1986 – 1988 рр.

Zharkikh M.I.

Kyiv: Myslene drevo. – 2002.

The Chernobyl disaster – the explosion and subsequent destruction of the 4th unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which began April 26, 1986. This disaster was the largest technical disaster in the history of mankind and it shortened the life of tens of thousands of people. Its negative consequences continue to be felt up to day.

The edition presents the full texts of publications of the Soviet press of 1986 – 1987 years, dedicated to this event. During the first two weeks the criminal Soviet communist leadership sought to conceal the explosion, then hiding tactic was changed to tactics of unrestrained fasling the flow of catastrophe and its actual and expected consequences. Materials expose unenviable role of IAEA as an assistant of Soviet leadership in this falsing, the reaction of the international community for disaster (as this reaction was reflected in Soviet press).

The database contains 3428 documents, 248 author's sheets of text, 636 images.

In an annex to the database placed the directory of the USSR government in 1986 – 1987, designed as a single root node.
