This first edition of our famous "Kobzar (poet)". It contains nine poems of Shevchenko: "Thinking my thoughts of my…", "Perebendya", "Catherine", "Poplar", "Thinking" ("Why me black eyebrows…"), "To Osnovyanenko", "Ivan Pidkova", "Taras's night". With this book, like in elementary DNA molecule, began the modern Ukraine.

Please be aware that "Kobzar" of 1840 known in two versions. It is a rare variant of 115 pages (it is known only in one copy). This book was approved by censorship and was allowed to release, but last minute plans of publishers changed, further reductions were made (on an already self-censorship), the end of book war remaked and issued the book in volume 114 pages. This variant is preserved in many instances.
