Ivan Fundukley (1804 – 1880) in 1839 – 1852 years served as Kiev civil governor. At that time he published several books on history, archeology and statistics of Kiev and Kiev province.
The proposed description of the Kiev antiquities of interest not for its general provisions, which are partly obsolete, but as fixation – the narrative and graphic – monuments of Kiev as of mid-19 century.
