Lesja Ukrainka: chronology of the life and creative work

Olga Kosach-Kryvynyuk (1877-1945, Lesja Ukrainka's sister) back in 1930th, in Kiev, began her work on collecting and normalizing family archives and manuscripts collection of the Lesja Ukrainka, mainly her letters. Especially hard Olga worked on these materials in the last two years before the war (1939 – 1941), but also in difficult conditions of war and emigration.

Chronologically canvas of life and work of Lesja Ukrainka and copies of many her letters O.P.Kosach-Kryvynyuk brought to a foreign country and shortly before her death, one instance of a large work entitled "Chronology of the life and work of Lesia Ukrainka" was deposed to museum archives of the Ukrainian Free Academy of Sciences (at that time it was in Augsburg). This copy UVAN brought to the United States.

The youngest Lesja Ukrainka's sister Izidora P. Borisova-Kosach who from 1949 lived in the U.S. showed the largest initiative in the publication of "Chronology" and organizing fund-raising among the Ukrainian people living outside their native land. Through these efforts a large volume of work published in 1970, to 100-year anniversary of the poetess.
