Psamophytic vegetation and steppe meadows

Psammophytic (sand-loving) vegetation of the Dnieper floodplain in Kyiv is represented by natural pioneer groups (mainly the class Koelerio glaucae-Corynephoretea canescentis, spinner Corynephorion canescentis), steppe meadows (order Galietalia veri class of meadow vegetation common on open alluvial sands, such as the association of terrestrial marten Calamogrostitetum epigeji, which belongs to the synanthropic vegetation – the class Epilobietalia angustifolii (Wysocki, Sikorski, 2009).
